Happy Halloween!

We attended several fall festivals with Spiderman. It's no secret that he is a lover of the Bounce House. We spent the majority of our time there.

Swimmy the Horse is Zac's new best buddy.

Swimmy (fresh out of the laundry after being sprayed with OFF because Zac saw a bug on him... and by the way, it's not fair -and possibly even a case of CRUELTY TO ANIMALS that Swimmy isn't allowed to have OFF.) attended the festivals, too.

Because Spiderman is well known for his equine companion.

Hey Spidey!

Happy Halloween!

Shepherd David

Zac goes to Awanas once a week.

Awanas (Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed -2 Timothy 2:15)
is a bible course for 3 year olds - high schoolers.
It's a discipleship program to help children learn, know, love, and serve Christ.

Each week, he has a story for us to read with him, an activity, a bible verse to memorize, and "homework." The kids wear vests and earn patches over the course of the year.

Anyways - he loves it.
And surely it's not because Olivia ("with the curly hair") sits next to him.

Surely not that at all.

Several weeks ago, it was Crazy Hair Night at Awanas.

And securing the award for Crummy Parents of the Week - we forgot.

Since then, Zac has been very stressed about Bible Character Night.

Apparently he was the only one without Crazy Hair, and it affected him in such a way that in order to appease him, we have stuffed his Spiderman costume into his bag just in case we are incorrect on the upcoming date for costume night.

Because...

- although we never forget vegetables on his plate or his 7:00 bedtime -

he has lost all confidence in our ability to remember the really important things in a kid's life. Like being ostracized for having normal, clean, light brown, neatly combed hair.

Last night was finally Bible Character night.

And dang it if we didn't remember that at about 4:30.

So.......
One snipped pillowcase, one handtowel, and one old necktie later -

We present DAVID!!

He was THRILLED.

He picked out some very smooth stones from the backyard to hang on his "belt."

And in the rush, he forgot to ask for a sling. Which was good because a quick Google search alerted us that such a contraption is now considered a banned weapon.

And we don't want the kid with the normal hair coming back with some sort of grudge.
(Can I get an amen?)

He also got to bring the snack tonight and was SO proud of them.

Hopefully we have redeemed ourselves. (no pun intended)

A boy and his tools

Before an evening bike ride, the boys had to do some unscheduled maintenance.

The next morning, Zac felt the need to continue... using the only tool he had access to at the moment.

Who needs handlebars?

Cushioned seats are for babies.

And pedals are so over-rated.

Star Wars Obsessed

Zac? Why weren't you smiling for the camera?
I *was* smiling. That's my Hans Solo smile.
