The card reader broke. $200. Sniff.
I am so sad. We might have to wait until after Christmas. It's killing me to pay for monogramming.

Thanksgiving at Nanny and Pops
This is our third year to have Thanksgiving here, and we have enjoyed each one.
For one, its exactly one mile from our front door. Easy!!! Oh, so easy.
Two- lots of kids to keep ours busy. Plus older kids and adults who also help out.
Three- their house backs up to an elementary school playground. After lunch football? Why sure!
Four- nap time? Our kids can be in their own cozy beds within 15 minutes.
Five- great company and yummy food
Plus Brian's aunt puts on the thanksgiving play every year. It was SG's first year to participate! Too bad she didn't want to.....
I finally had to bring her inside for a little talk on participating with a happy heart.
Asher, on the other hand, loved the whole entire play. He preferred the pilgrim hat over the Indian. Maybe because daddy wore one too. :)
The highlight for SG was when she "caught" a ladybug. She loved that ladybug to death. Literally. (But she never realized it, so that was good.) Nightnight little "sleeping" ladybug!

Holiday Spirit
We borrowed the movie Elf from a friend and had a special movie night with zz on Monday. We also had some s'mores around the firepit, just with him.
He left on Tuesday for almost a week.
I'm devastated as usual. It's always worse when he leaves in tears, too. Never gets easier.
I'm thankful we had quality fun time with him before he left. He loved the movie so much. And he switched back and forth cuddling with us the whole movie. Bless his sweeet sweet heart. He is a treasure.
He also spent some time in the latest toy catalog with a sharpie. You know, in case we wanted to shop for him while he was gone. ;)
SG watched her very first real Disney princess movie tonight. Cinderella. Don't tell Daddy I paid $25 for it!! She picked out the book from the store a couple weeks ago and I've read it to her a couple times. So I thought this might be the Disney movie to start with. She really enjoyed it.
She calls the stepsisters Sassy and Cranky. Oh, how that makes me laugh!!!
Thanksgiving is tomorrow. Not gonna lie, I am not really into it at all. I am feeling major pressure that I really don't need. This season of life is already tough on a young family with two parents who work, and three (adorable!) young kids.
We don't have a someone who will drop by at naptime to push me out the door to have lunch with my hubby. We can't afford to send our kids to preschool during the week so there is extra time to get things done. If we need help, Brian takes off work or we pay $12/hour. I work from home and have real life deadlines, and sometimes that means I cannot entertain an out of town guest in the middle of the day. (making rude comments to my husband about that is so wrong on so many levels... not to mention, of course he will tell me!!)
For the love. I wish I had enough time on my hands to cause drama.
I say this frequently... As our kids have their own young families, they will see us involved in their lives, helping them out, and not with conditions and not with guilt.
We cannot wait to give that gift to our children!
I'm trying very hard to have holiday spirit. I'm borderline about to be very un-southern-like and stop the smile-and-ignore-the-white-elephant-in-the-room, and let some people know how their actions are affecting those around them.
Thankfully SGs complete excitement about Christmas is kinda making it really all kinds of fun. And my boys are just the sweetest things in the world. I am one blessed mommy and wife, that's for sure. <3 We got half our outdoor lights up and hopefully will start the tree tomorrow. It will be so cute to see their little faces when they see the tree!! They make all this nonsense worth it.
Maybe it's gonna be a good thing to just stick with my people this holiday season!

Popcorn sales
Every Friday, Zachs school sells treats after school. Stuff like popcorn, ring pops, etc.
SG was my helper. She was fascinated by the apron (Christmas gift for her definitely!!). She calls it being the Maker. "Mommy!! I want to be the Maker! Please can I be the Maker??!!" (I think she is thinking of Baker, with the apron and all. So precious!!) And she told her customers to "have a blessed day!"
Love.
She also said, "This is hard work!" :)

School outfit
I can usually count on SG for some hilarious pics. She just has it in her. Maybe I should videotape one so I can remember how funny she is posing.
And Ash likes to be in at least one, with his hand on his hip. Lol!! His outfits are not as interesting. He loves shirts with sports on them, and I love his excitement about them. <3
My nights are long right now with editing. I went to bed at 1:30 this morning but was greeted by a pike of laundry in the bed. :-/ The house is so clean right now... So I took 5 min and put them away. Sigh.
Got my flu shot yesterday too. People are dropping like flies at Zachs school with the flu. Praying it skips over our home!!! Of course, everyone in the family had shots already except me. I know us moms do that a lot. Guess what - they are only $27 cash at Target. Go get one!!! :)

Playground fun
Today was a ballet day, which was fun. It was Parent Day, so we got to watch the whole class. SG did great. She gets so caught up in listening and watching, that she forgets to actually do whatever it is they are supposed to be doing. So she's kinda doing her own thing in the pics I took. But she's darn cute anyways!
She wanted a braid in her hair, and then a bun. She's been quite specific about the hair lately. I had also picked out the wrong bow (a darling big pink one). But I only fight her on the days I'm willing to pick a battle (not often), so a braided bun with a black/pink bow it is!
After school was Zach's school conference. So the kids played for a bit until it started.
Football is HUGE right now on the playground. It's taken months for Zachariah to feel comfortable out there. He did score his first touchdown yesterday. That was big news around our fire pit last night, discussing highs and lows over some s'mores.
His conference went well. Obviously no academic concerns, as he's in 90+ percentile on everything. Some social things, like making sure other people are following the rules. This is an issue at home too... Especially with SG, who must sense its a sensitive thing because she sure can push his buttons. Lol!
Anywho. The littles kept busy at the playground dumping rocks onto the slide. Such a classic fun playground activity. Ash isn't allowed on this particular slide so he kept very busy with the rocks.
I didn't feel great today or yesterday. The flu has hit Zachs school HARD. As usual, everyone in the fan has had the shot except mama. I mustmustmust get a flu shot this weekend.
