Getting well

Sorry for the delay in posting. It was a busy couple of days. :)

Thursday ended up being a really crummy day for both of us - just one of our bad ones. We both had to deal with some things about Selah Grace that were hard to deal with. It's hard when we are both down, but we got through it.

Friday, we stayed too busy to be sad. And we left the hacienda at bedtime to take the kids down to Brian's parents so Zac and Brian could go hunting. The trip was AWESOME. Both kids slept the entire way - the only way to travel! ha!

Saturday, Brian and Zac got to hunt. And Selah Grace got to model her own camo.

She is missing her camo bow. Tragic!

Brian's parents have a cat. And we all know how Zac feels about cats....

Poor little Sam. She gets hugged and cuddled and held and snuggled anytime Zac sees her .... and she is SOOOOO sweet to ZZ!

They also have an old school Bingo game (circa 1973) which we play at least 17 times when we visit...

And we also had to put Zac to work in the kitchen when we "cooked" the birdies. (basically lathered them in bbq sauce, put in some cream cheese, and wrapped in bacon... super duper healthy.... ha!)

And as of Friday, Miss Selah Grace has an announcement. She is a pacifier baby.

And I never thought I'd be a pacifier MOM!! Ugh! No!!!!!! Say it isn't so!!!!

But, she loves it. What do you do??

She is happy sitting the swing, the carseat, and her brand new bouncy seat... as long as she has her paci. This girl loves to suck. And this Mama can't be there in that way 24/7. It hasn't hurt our nursing relationship, so we are going with it. I'm still not a fan of the paci, but she sure is cute... ;)

SO, we were having a grand old time UNTIL Zac started to feel sick. (Zac, btw, is the only one of us who has gotten the flu shot!) Oh my. We have spent the past couple of days keeping them apart and trying to get him better. He has a virus, which the clinic tested this weekend for swine flu and it was negative (THANK YOU LORD!!!). I had the hardest time NOT holding him when he was crying for me. I sat across the room holding Selah Grace, and cried right along with him. Brian had Zac-duty and cuddled with him while he was sick. He did a wonderful job, but it was still hard not to hold my baby boy!! And thank goodness for Brian's parents, who made a run to the 24-hour Walmart to get Zac some Tylenol, made cool washcloths for him, and helped Brian take care of him while Selah and I were trying to steer clear.

All looks better today. We are skipping co-op today since Zac's fever didn't go away until yesterday.

But we did have an event this morning. Selah Grace's first CARES event!

She had to get all pretty and cute...

And we passed out breakfast burritos and juice to all the residents leaving for work. :)

Tomorrow we'll be back in the swing of things. But this time, we are armed with Germ-X in the car, diaper bag, purse, entryway, etc etc. No more sickness around here!

So sorry to hear about the illness in your house! But what a blessing that the rest of you stayed healthy! I LOVE the hunting pictures and of course that big pink bow. Precious children!
