Brian: At a party
Sarah: A church party (*insert halo*). April literally ran into him and ended up introducing herself. When I turned around, there she was introducing him to me.
Brian: I still say they ran into me on purpose.
In fact, here's a real picture Sarah has from that party. This was a couple hours before we met.
(Big props to Katy and Nathan for babysitting that night, and for April's matchmaking skills!)
Brian: We met again the next Saturday when a group of mutual friends went country dancing.
We were both walking up at the same time.
Sarah: I had already told Jill about him in the car, so that was cool that we got there at the same time. I totally squealed in the car.
Here we all are right before we walked in that night. Notice, we have strategically placed ourselves next to each other.
Brian: We danced a lot and spent a good amount of time together that evening. I called her the next day to go to dinner. We both broke the 3-day rule and it was so worth it.
As she drove off that night, I told myself, "I'm going to marry that girl."
How did "wedding talk" come about?
Sarah: Here's how it actually happened.
Brian asked me to go ring shopping in early December. I was thrilled!! We had planned to go on a Thursday night. I had my outfit planned 2 days beforehand. My eyeliner looked perfect. I even curled my hair. My mom, sisters, and girlfriends all knew. I was so excited for him to pick me up, I couldn't stand it! The butterflies!!!
But, when he got to my house looking 3 shades paler than usual... I knew something was up.
Sure enough, he suggested a "fun" dinner out instead. Supposedly, he was really hungry.
The only thing I really remember about that dinner was *not* to cry.
Brian: (head in hands)
Sarah: He asked me to go again a couple weeks later and I almost refused. This time he said he would go starving.
The ring! What does it look like?
Brian: A jeweler was recommended to me. I made an appt on a Saturday, so Sarah could help design it. T
he final product was more beautiful than either of us imagined.
Brian is in sales, Sarah has an in-home preschool.
Where will you live?
Sarah: I am a Plano-snob.
Brian: But I have convinced her that Dallas has its perks.
Sarah: I will miss all the shopping within walking distance. But maybe this is a good thing.
What about Sarah's preschool?
Brian: Sarah will close her Plano daycare in May, and reopen a preschool at my house in August.
Sarah: Our house. :)
Who is Zachariah?
Sarah's son. We reserve all rights to talk incessantly and obnoxiously about how cute and funny he is. It's our blog.
Okay, we can't help it. Here's a blatant brag on the 3yo prodigy.
You should see him explain algabreic equations. Genious, we say!
How did Brian meet Zachariah?
After church one Sunday, we ate Happy Meals at a park. It was low-key and fun. The 3 of us have had a blast from the start.
What does Zachariah think of all this?
The ring: It does not glow in the dark. It does not make noises. It does not crash into things.
The tux: It's a superhero costume.
The party: Bounce House + Food + Cake = .... well, just don't be surprised if he asks us to sing Happy Birthday. To him, of course.
Did Brian ask Sarah's dad?
Brian: Of course! Although I wasn't prepared to give a 5-year plan for him.
Sarah: I told him to have a PowerPoint ready. *shrugs*
Honeymoon plans?
We are hoping to go to the beach somewhere and stay far away from the Spring Breakers. That is, if we even leave our room. :)
