Pediatrician appt and more pics!!

Just a quick update from us on the pediatrician appointment today!

We took both kiddos in today. ZZ for his 5 yr check up and SG for her 2 day check up.

ZZ did AWESOME! :) Well... until he realized he had to have one shot and a finger prick. That didn't go so well. But we got through it.

SG did great, too! She is back to gaining weight, so that's great. She was 9lb 10oz at birth, and was down to 9lb 1oz when we checked out. Today she was at 9lb, 2 oz today. Yay for her being a great nurser!!

There was a jaundice concern, so we were sent across the street to the hospital to get that checked out. The doctor called us (just now, actually - at 9:45 on a Friday night... what a great guy!) and said she was at a 13, which will not require a biliruben (sp?) light. Good thing... that would have been super hard not to cuddle with her!! But it is high, so we'll keep an eye on it.

She had her heels pricked at the hospital, and ZZ had just gotten his finger pricked. He was so encouraging and sweet to her. He was saying things like, "I know just how you feel Selah Grace. I know it hurts." in this really serious concerned voice.

We had some sad kids today!

Brian and I went out to dinner with Selah Grace tonight. You wouldn't have known, though, the way she was covered up. No strangers touching our kid! ;)

Other than that, things are okay.

You know, in high school, when you'd break up with someone and every song on the radio would somehow have to do with that?

Kind of a really stupid comparison, but that's how we feel right now! It's been an emotional two days for both of us. We had to finally turn the radio off. 94.9 has been too much of a tear-jerker for us. We'll be totally fine and upbeat and in a great discussion about hope and the power of prayer... then we'll get a text message/voicemail/email from a friend and lose it all over again. Or when my mom called just to tell me there was a rainbow out their window and she wanted to remind me about God's promises... I can hardly even type that!

Selah Grace (even with her little piggy noises and yellow skin!) has us wrapped around her little fingers (totally Brian's fingers, btw). Wait until you meet her!

Speaking of... we are open this weekend for visitors. If you didn't get an email about that, just let us know! :)

Recent pics of the princess!!

You won't see her much without a hairbow... :)

And just for fun... I'm trying to type up this post and we hear some horrific sounds coming from Selah's diaper while Brian is holding her.

Brian says, "Sounds like we need to change her, huh?"

And I say, "We?"

Because Brian hasn't changed a poopy diaper yet. Somehow he has managed to avoid this fun little first-time-daddy job.

So, he gets a really guilty look and goes into her room to change her. But not a minute goes by, and I hear him calling desperately for help.

Apparently, Selah wasn't actually done yet. And the way Brian was all animated and shocked, describing the "volcanic eruption" he had the opportunity to witness first hand... priceless. TOO funny... lol

What a precious, darling baby girl. I will keep Selah Grace in my thoughts and prayers in the days, years to come. Brian, your entire family will be in many, many prayers. I pray for wisdom for the doctors in treating Miss Selah. I love you all.

Sarah everytime I hear her name, I hear "Saved By Grace". Everything is going to be fine. Everything is going to be great, actually.

Who better to raise this beautiful child than you and Brian?!? God gave her to y'all maybe because he knew you would be the BEST parents in the world to raise her. You are an AMAZING mother and you'll get through this just like every other bump in the road we've been through.

Just look back at the things that seemed so bad at the time...the divorce, being a single parent, the trials of all of that(!)and now look at what a wonderful man you have as your husband and you have a little girl!! I'm so jealous!!

Sometimes when things appear bad; it's just our way of seeing it. Just let God work - It will all work for the good of those who love the Lord and it will.

Everything is going to be fine. I have worked with so many SPED students who are doing GREAT.

This will be what you make of it and I know you both and life is going to be good, really good. I am here for you - I will come by this week as soon as I get the ok from you : )

I love you girly... Selah Grace is a true blessing!! We have no idea how God is going to use her and the plans he has for your family because of this.

Everything has good in it so I agree with you - pull from the good and celebrate it!! Selah Grace is here!!

love y'all,
Jennifer
